I have a passion for education and love every aspect of food, which has led me to the exciting field of public health nutrition. This passion is coupled with my belief that everyone deserves to learn about nutrition and how to cook delicious, healthy meals. I am just beginning my journey in public health, but I can already tell it will be full of amazing experiences.

I am currently a Master’s student in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, and have received my Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota. Minneapolis has been my home for the past 4 years and I love the city more each day. During my time here I have held many different positions in food, research and education, but am currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the College of Education and Human Development. My primary responsibility is to teach an undergraduate lab course in anatomy and physiology. This is my fourth semester teaching the course and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

In addition to my teaching position, I am a member of the School of Public Health Student Senate, the Graduate and Professional School Assembly and an active volunteer with the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation’s Food Explorer program. Each of these appointments provides me with a different perspective of public health and I am always looking for more opportunities to broaden my understanding of the field.
